Antuanette Gomez, the founder of Toronto-based Pleasure Peaks, is helping women through their sexual healing journey.
It all started when I stumbled upon a gourmet grilled cheese cafe & vapor lounge, Get Melted, at Church Street village seven years ago. I was naive yet eager to learn and asked at the front desk. “What’s a vapor lounge?”
Curiosity soon gave way to passion as I learned about the therapeutic properties of cannabis and that there was a hidden system of patients granted legal access to cultivate and consume for medical purposes in Canada. As a quick learner and complex thinker, I was eager to get to work with patients and see this plant in action.
A year later, I’ll never forget meeting Katie. A young woman in her early 20s recently engaged and having trouble with fertility and pleasurable sex due to endometriosis, a painful disorder that affects 10 per cent of women globally. And Ashely, a woman with a 13 lbs fibroid who I met in 2016, testing out Rick Simpson Oil as a natural alternative therapy to shrink the tumor and not risk having a hysterectomy that would take away her option of starting a family.
